THE PREZZIES DINNER - THE NESTONCLUB SPORTS AWARDS 2019
The Presidents Dinner incorporating The NESTON CLUB Sports Awards, was held on Friday 22 November 2019. President Antony Bush presented the evening in front of 120 members, representing a cross section of the Club, Cricket, Hockey, Tennis Racketball and Squash !
The evening was Sponsored by Award winning Constables Estate Agents, catering was by Award winning Cheeky Chilli. During the evening we raised over £300 towards the The Shrimp Appeal. A big thanks to Andrew Mills of Mills Media for the Photography and A/V assistance. Outgoing Club Member of the year, Bern Thorne, incredibly managed to retrieve the trophy from his house off the back pitch and return within 1 minute 35 seconds! The big two Awards went to Sally Bush for Club Member and Jack Coyle for The Will Falck Young Member, both thoroughly deserved, for all the work they do for the club. |
The Senior Performance Players went to Kathy Clifford who got to the last eight of the O60 British Tennis Championships and Will Evans + Justin Hussey who were the Cheshire Cricket Premier League Player of the season and Merseyside Racketball Best player of the season.
The Junior Boys Performance Player Award went to young Junior Cheshire Cricketer Luke Jones. The Girls Award winner was Neston 1st Team Hockey goal-keeper Emma Ashcroft. The all round athlete or Victor Ludorum Award went to Cameron Lea-Swain who plays 1st Team Cricket and Squash. Coach of the Year Award was won by Dave Truelove who is the fitness coach for Hockey and Cricket. The Senior Mens Team Award went to the Racketball 1st Team who won Division 1 of the Merseyside League. At the end of the evening all members joined hands and sang "Auld Lang Syne" and toasted the Club. |
