The Ladies 1s played a night game on Thursday, which was well attended and gave the girls a boost, but sadly they lost out to Kendall 1s. But they were handed a life line by beating Sheffield Hallum on Saturday and need at least 4 more points from two games, to help stay in the North Premier League.

The 3s captured the Cheshire Cup for the first time since 2008 with a thrilling win over Stockport in the semi-final and then a comfortable win over host Bramhall in the final. Lots of good individual performances in both games and a very good day at Church Lane. For most players this was a double weekend as the 4s were crowned champions on Saturday with their rained off 7pts V Oxton. Plus three of them were in the O40's triumph the week before, have they got shelves strong enough for all this silverware

Will Falck 1991-2016
There was a great celebration of Will's life at the Parish Church in Neston followed by drinks at Neston Cricket Club. He was only 24 years of age and played hockey through the junior sides into the senior teams and was a very popular and social player. He leaves his twin brother George, brother James, his mother and father Kate and Erik and a huge amount of friends at Neston Hockey. Will's legacy of strength, courage and determination will forever be an inspiration to all his friends and he will be hugely missed by the members and our thoughts are with his family at this difficult time.
Following interviews held over the last two weeks we are very pleased to announce the appointment of Craig Stubbs as our new Club Manager. Craig will take up his position as soon as he has served his notice period with his current employers. This is currently subject to discussion and we shall confirm his official starting date as soon as possible which in any event will be before the end of August 2016.
Prior to his starting we shall be consulting with Craig about the selection and appointment of other new staff.
Finally we are pleased to advise members that Kat Hussey has kindly agreed to step into the breach and act as an interim Club Manager. We appreciate it will be a difficult time for the Club and we hope that all Club members will give Kat their full support and that members will be patient during this transition period.
In the meantime we hope all members will join us in wishing Andrew Woolley all the very best for the future and to thank him for his hard work and loyal service over the last 11 years.

Thankfully Captain Jon Hunter won and took the extra 5 bonus points for a win. Graeme Lea-Swain got us off to a good start, sadly Simon Dutton and Rachael Chadwick lost, it was gloves off for the next match as Nick Sutherland had to keep us in it with the match going down to the last point before Jon Hunter kept us on tender hooks for 5 games, again down to the last point! We move further away from our rivals, with 4 games to go!

Neston got 197 for 6 from their 50 overs and Marple got 196 for 7 from their 50 overs. The pick of the day though was the Neston 4's win against Urmston 3's captained by Dan Wakefield on the back pitch with Patrick Woodland (pictured above) who bowled very well and finished on 5 wickets for 9 runs! Dom Smith 35, Dan McNamara 39 and young Mark Strong was 39 n.o. The win lifts the 4's off the bottom and out of relegation for the time being!
