Marquee Week 2016
THE SPORTSMAN'S LUNCH
The Lunch on Thursday 30 June 2016 was a great success with Neston Cricket Club hosting 520 corporate guests from as diverse industries as finance, law, recruitment and banks, as well a number of private guests. It was sponsored by Forresters with Hillyer McKeown and Searchability supporting. Dennis Taylor was the main Speaker after MC Pez Tellet introduced President Tony Bush, and got all 520 guests to sing “Happy Birthday” to him before Grace! Cheeky Chilli served a very big Rib-Eye Steak with their normal friendly efficient service followed by a clever Trio of desserts. Over coffee and mints we heard the fascinating stories from Dennis Taylor, the 1985 World Snooker Champion, he was both funny and interesting and a pleasure to have as a guest speaker. There followed a small break before comedian Gary Marshall came on with his characteristic Yorkshire wit. A big thanks to Kat Hussey who pulled this event together with only 6 weeks notice, together with Andy Joslin who coordinated the Marquee build and Andrew Mills who coordinated the electrics as well as his speciality the Audio and Lighting. A big thanks to all our Bar staff, Wine Bar staff and waitresses who make this event so good.

THE PARKGATE PROMS
The Parkgate Proms on Friday 1st July 2016 was a great success with Neston Cricket Club hosting 405 guests made from an equal spread of members and local residents. It was sponsored by Lees Solicitors with Mason Media supporting. The Northern Lights Charity + The Shrimp Appeal were the two Charities that The Raffle raised funds for. MC Tony Bush welcomed the guests and then L’Orchestra dell'Arte performed their first set, Tchaikovsky, Puccini and a selection from My Fair Lady amongst others Cheeky Chilli served a Chicken Tarragon with lovely vegetables, followed by a sticky toffee pudding! In between the three Raffle girls, Millie, Trixie and Hannah did a great job selling all their tickets to the guests! The second set had soprano Rebecca Godley performing and showed why she has received a scholarship from the Wagner Institute of Scotland. A moment was dedicated to commemorating the 1st day of The Battle of The Somme, with The Soldier, by Rupert Brooke, read by Tony Bush. The concert ended on a high with Pomp and Circumstance being sung, while flags were waved vigorously around the Marquee. A big thanks to Lucy Mason, of Mason Media who coordinated the ticket sales and seating. Thanks to all our Bar staff, Wine Bar staff and waitresses who make this event so good. The sound + lighting by Mills Media and Andrew Mills and his staff was exceptional which was one of the reasons the third Parkgate Proms was the best and has become such a success. Watch out 2017!
