We are enjoying some great weather so take advantage of the Grass Tennis Courts at The Neston Club and if you are not a member, try the 3 month offer:
1. Please follow the LTA Guidelines and Book below.
2. Please remember during this Lockdown period, don't block Book as demand will be high. However common sense needs to be applied...if no one is booked on after you then do play on.
3. Don't socialise afterwards...again common sense....have a drink and move on, please don't stay more than you need to.
4. We are hopeful the Guidelines will be relaxed soon, so hang on and we hope to offer an even better experience at The Neston Club.
HELP THE CLUB TOP UP YOUR CARD
It is 80 years since The Little Ships went out and rescued our Troops on Dunkirk beach. Every little ship helped and you can take inspiration from those brave ships and HELP our Club with a little Top Up of your Club Card. Any small amount will help and you can buy drinks, food and tickets for events when we get back.
The Shrimp magazine is out, giving you the news, results and stories from the past six months at The Neston Club
The Neston Club Management Team are pleased to announce that TENNIS HOCKEY + CRICKET CAN be played at The Club.
It is vital that we stick with the guidelines that each Sports Governing body has given and the UK Governments advice. Please follow the guidelines given by the LTA and ECB. Be patient and polite with other members especially at the point of change over.
The Chairpersons of Tennis Hockey and Cricket have agreed that we will restrict the time to ONE HOUR. Some common sense and thought for others is appreciated. If there is no body booked on after you then play on, but be sure you are not holding up anybody. Remember you have not played for a couple of months, so best to avoid injury!!
1. Please book online, please don't just turn up, you can book easily on your phone.
2. Grass Tennis courts should not be played on before 11 am. This is clear on the booking system.
3. Bring your Membership card with you.
4. The Club House will remain closed.
5. You are representing our Club, so please Stay Safe and Alert and enjoy your game!
Bowls and Croquet is available, if you bring your own bowls. The same guidelines applies to these sports as long as you bring your own equipment. Don't stay around before or after the game and chat please get home and stay safe.
Members can run round the Cricket outfield ....but please NO FOOTBALL on the outfield. We are keen to get members playing all our sports, so bear with us.
Best wishes to all your families and I hope we will see more of you soon.

MEMBER RAISES ALMOST 10K FOR THE NHS
Neston Club member John Harris has raised almost £10k for the NHS. He ran a marathon three weeks ago and has then done a series of physical, crazy or arduous tasks every hour over a 24 hour period! Respect and congratulations to John who only joined us 18 months ago. Get him over 10k if you can, donate please.
It is with sadness we report the death of Dennis O'Brien, aged 94, a good innings and a long time supporter of the Club. He used to watch the cricket from the Station Road boundary end, every summer without fail, since his son, David, played a number of decades ago. Always smartly dressed, with a keen interest to chat to fellow supporters. Our sympathies are with his family.
Energetic and enthusiastic in all he did, Steve was just recovering from a hip operation and looking forward to a new lease of life when he received the diagnosis of terminal cancer. Two weeks later he was gone.
Given the current lockdown situation he will be having a direct funeral on the 8th May at 10am - he liked things kept simple.
We will look to celebrate his life at a later date when people can once again socialise.
In the meantime whilst all focus is on COVID-19 the world still faces its many other challenges and charities are suffering. If you can, spare a thought for Steve and place a donation.

THE SHRIMP IS OUT
The Shrimp brings all the Club news, Sports stats and pictures of the Club Events over the past six months over the summer.
The EGM on 30th October overwhelmingly passed the resolution to change the name of the club to “The Neston Club”. The change will help to “Brand” the club and market it to new members as well as for Events.

Parkgate Proms Sporting Lunch
Craig Stubbs, Neston GM with Colin Croft and Simon Evans from Taittainger.
Colin Croft + Ted Robbins at Neston Marquee Sporting Lunch
Colin Croft was part of the potent West Indian quartet of fast bowlers from the late 70s and early 80s. With his height (6'5"), he bowled bouncers and was very aggressive. Croft's figures of 8/29 against Pakistan in 1977 are still the best Test innings figures by a fast bowler from the West Indies!
Ted Robbins is a Comedian, Actor and DJ, who has appears regularly on Television and was in Coronation Street! We look forward to welcoming them both to Parkgate on Thursday 4th July in the Sporting Lunch Marquee!

A big thank you to our Team of Craig Stubbs, Kat Hussey, Nick Morrison, along with all the Office, Events and Bar Team members, who have put in some crazy hours over the past week to make it a record breaking year.
